Once sperm leaves the human body, it dies on contact with air. How long sperm survives outside a person's or a man's body depends on certain environmental factors and how quickly the sperm dries out. In the case of in vitro fertilization (IVF), sperm can survive in an incubator for about 72 hours. On human skin, sperm dies within 15 to 30 minutes. Once semen dries on a dry surface or cloth, the sperm will die. If frozen or properly preserved, sperm can survive for several years. It is practically impossible for a man's sperm present in bathtub or swimming pool water to enter a woman's body and cause her to become pregnant. The hot water and chemicals in a bathtub will kill the sperm within a few seconds. If the bathtub contains plain warm water, the sperm might survive for a few minutes. Even so, to cause pregnancy the sperm would have to travel through that water, enter through the woman's vagina, then pass through the cervix, and then reach the uterus. Getting pregnant through this process is nearly impossible.Credit : Nishat Tasnim (Science Bee)Reference : https://www.healthline.com/health/how-long-can-sperm-live-outside-the-bodyhttps://www.webmd.com/infertility-and-reproduction/guide/sperm-and-semen-faq
Hussain Gazi : If sperm mixes with water, the sperm will become very diluted and the amount of sperm will decrease. Also, if sperm travels toward the uterus, the uterus treats sperm as a foreign particle, so out of several hundred thousand sperm, only one or two survive — so how could so many sperm mixed with water get inside? Moreover, the acidity or alkalinity (pH) of pond water, as well as germs, will destroy sperm. Also, outside the human body, sperm never survives for long without cryopreservation or a sperm bank.
