How do I open an NID account online?

The portal has two separate routes and the first thing to settle is which one you are on. If you already hold a national ID you open an account through “Register”; if you do not have one yet you file a new registration through “Apply”.

1. Go to the portal, choose the registration option, and enter your ID number and date of birth.
2. Enter the address details — as recorded in your registration, not necessarily where you live now.
3. Verify a mobile number. This is the number account recovery will use later, so give one of your own that stays active.
4. Complete the face-verification step as instructed, then set a password and activate the account.

The step where people most often get stuck is the address — many enter where they live now, while the portal is matching against the address recorded at registration. If you cannot recall it, the address printed on the card itself is the one to use.

Once the account exists you can download a copy of your ID, file corrections and track an application from it. Do not share the password — this account can be used to request changes to your identity details.
